"Can you do something for me." says Matt as soon as I get in.
Now, for Matt to ask me to do something was quite special. Usually it would come from Robert or Laura or even on extra special occasions, the producer Patrick, but apparently today there was something I could do.
Once I found out the subject matter, I was intrigued to work on it. Matt states that he wants me to radio-proof a sound clip from the show "Superstars" on ABC. It was not a clip that was on the air, but instead an outtake that did not make it over the airwaves. It shows Joanna Krupa and Terrell Owens going at it. To say the least, its not safe for work, or kids' ears. I had to go in a cut out all the 'Fu-ks' and "Sh-t" so they could play it on the air.
I was nearly done with this when I find out that we are taking an early trip (me and Robert) to the Toyota Center for a 1pm press conference with Daryl Morey about the team and their stance with Thursday's NBA draft. As of now, the team has no picks, but is looking to move in by purchasing or trading for one or more.
We head down at 12:40 and arrive right at 1:00. Mr. Morey is late and it causes Robert to have to rush to the ballpark. I go back to the station with the audio and the flip video that Robert got.
After cutting seven things from Daryl and writing out a cut sheet, Laura comes in and tells me she has an important job for me. I email the cut sheet to Robert and tell him I am not sure if I will be able to make it to the ballpark.
I head to the other room where Laura has me set up at one of the sales cubicles. My job is to print out afadavids from the last 18 months stating that each of the KILT FM and AM stations has promoed the companies they said they did. There are three different catagories for the AM station and 2 for the FM station, Metro and Traffic are the same for both stations. Sports (AM) has the sat/sun section.
My job included printing all of these pages out, organizing them by month, and put them together.
From the time I started to 5pm, I got through January 2008 -November 2008 for KILT-AM. It was a lot of papers. It was not exactly what I had in mind doing considering I was going to stay and watch the game, but I guess I will do that on Friday now. Thats all for today, now off to home to spend more time with the cousin.
