Over two plus months into the school year and much has been done to help the situation at KSHU at Sam Houston State University. I have been proud to be apart of the team responsible for the progress made since the beginning of the semester.
A change in the leadership role atop the station has been a big reason for the increased production and overall urge to be proactive as a group, management team and a station. Much of the credit is due to Mrs. Cooper and LeeAn who have done a great job overseeing a transition to soon a new automation system and the attempt to turn a new page for the radio station.
I have been able to help with the website and oversee the process of expanding the specialty shows, the idea of changing the format of the music played and the increase of sports covered and called by the play by play crew.
A new logo came two weeks ago and on the 21st of October, a website stat tracker was put on the station website to track visitors, helping towards the goal of getting the station streamed on the internet. The department chair, Dr. Balas has also been very cooperative in assisting the station in allowing us to give her a list of things we need for the station and for her to get those for the station sooner than they might normally be purchased.
There were so many issues during the summer from the lack of cooperation to the failures from Google and the lack of interest that something had to be done. I am proud of those who have stepped up and have and will make KSHU a station that will make everyone proud to be a part of. I don't have to name names, they know who they are.
Thank you to everyone who has helped bring KSHU along the last two or so months and tho those who will continue to support, assist and enjoy Huntsville's HD choice for variety, 90.5 The Kat.
